After designing luxury lingerie for several years, the famous French designer Chantal Thomass has embarked on a new journey with the French tennis tournament, Roland Garros.
The designer has partnered with the forthcoming French Open series to create a sports-inspired ready-to-wear collection for the tennis fans attending the Parisian stadium.
According to WWD, the designer has taken cues from the 1920s tennis garbs and the late French tennis champ Suzanne Lenglen for the feminine 11-piece line.
Slated to be sold exclusively at the Roland Garros stadium from May 24 till the end of the tournament on June 8, 2014, the range will feature pussy-bow polo shirts, pleated skirts, fishnet visors, tops and tunics.
Chantal Thomass started her design career in the late 1960s with a ready-to-wear line, made from flannel and lurex stitches, for Terebatine.
One of the major tennis tournaments in the world, the upcoming edition of French Open will take place from May 25 to June 8, 2014.
