Karen Elson donates her vintage archive to Dress for Success

Self-proclaimed vintage hoarders Karen Elson and Liz Goldwyn let a host of American designers loose in their wardrobes with the sole purpose of finding a retro gem to reinvent themselves.

Suno's vivid yellow jumper choice was soon decked out with a little help from Atelier Swarovski, Tory Burch attacked a pink posie embellished top with rhinestones, and contributors Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Olivier Theyskens, Jason Wu and Eddie Borgo were equally creative.

The revamped designs form the Vintage Vanguard collection, which will be sold on Moda Operandi from today until January 12. All proceeds from the sale of the unique pieces will then go to Dress for Success, the charity that kits out disadvantaged women in professional attire to further their chance of securing a successful career.

Model Elson and her artist-come-film-maker-come-fashion-collector friend, Goldwyn, have been illustrating their excitement for the project via their Instagram accounts. Contributing designer Zac Posen even feted the collection and the trio's friendship with a homemade gluten free bluberry pie.
