New York Fashion Week to become more designer friendly (United States Of America)

The forthcoming February edition of New York Fashion Week is set to embrace some phenomenal changes to make itself more cost-effective, less crowded and more convenient for the participating designers.
Since the last two decades, the bi-annual event has become increasingly more crowded and expensive due to the growing number of guests, which include celebrities, fashion bloggers and media, and oversized runways.
In order to tackle the issues and make the fashion do more specific for the industry insiders, the organizer of the event IMG Fashion is gearing up to revamp the show with more modernized venues and a tighter guest list.
To cut down the cost of staging catwalk shows, the firm plans to reduce the rents in some of the spaces at the Lincoln Centre and would introduce new affordable nearby venues.
Also, the existing runways will be remodelled with better lighting and other modern amenities to make them more spacious and contemporary.
To curb the number of guests, the media guest list will be reduced by 20 percent and the invitation passes will be given exclusively to the fashion insiders only.
Additionally, shuttle services from all the main venues of the event, which will highlight trends for the Fall-2014 season, will be provided for the editors and buyers.
IMG Fashion is one of the world’s leading companies engaged in production and management of fashion events.
